“ My first was a takeaway from the Taj it was so nice that I decided to go with the family on Saturday. The staff were absolutely amazing and professional the food I have to say is the best place I have had ate it really tops and place especially Leicester. We were given our first round of drinks on the house as our table was not available by no fault of the Taj, it was a really kind gesture specially as we did ask or expect it. Offered me try something and to my pleasant surprise it was a vegan dish(amazing). Looking forward to trying all the dishes on every visit. ”
“ I've been to the Taj Bar and Grill a few times now and it's been brilliant every time. The food is absolutely delicious - generous portions, full of flavour, and always beautifully presented. The cocktails are amazing too! The staff are lovely - really friendly and approachable, which makes the whole experience even better. The interior is great as well - there's even a TV with a virtual fireplace, which adds a really cosy touch. If you're in Leicester and after some top-quality Indian food, I'd highly recommend giving this place a go. I'll definitely be back! ”
“ I was visiting from Canada and was recommended the Taj restaurant by a friend. It was very impressive...Top quality food and service! The Lipta Kebabs were out of this world...you must try these for yourself! Great prices too! Next time I visit the UK I will be bringing all my friends here to try this unique experience! Thanks to the crew at the Taj! ”
“ Last night, we visited The Taj Bar and Grill in Leicester, and it was absolutely brilliant! At last, an Indian restaurant with a modern, straightforward menu—you don’t have to flick through endless pages. You simply pick your favourite curry, choose your options (chicken, paneer, tiger prawn, lamb, etc.), select your side, and decide how spicy you want it—mild, medium, spicy, or extra hot. It’s a bit like an American-style or Nando’s menu but for Indian food, which is fantastic as you can completely personalise your meal to your liking. The vegan options were a real standout—so many choices, and each one bursting with flavour! We’ve tried loads of Indian restaurants in Leicester, but only a few have made it onto our list of regular spots. This one has definitely joined that list—it’s a place we’ll be coming back to, 100%. For spice lovers, there’s even a "Devil’s Curry" challenge! I wasn’t brave enough to try it, but it’s such a unique idea—I’ve never seen anything like it in other Indian restaurants. On top of all that, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were spot-on. We felt so well looked after and can’t wait to visit again! ”
“ What can I say about this place? The place was great very clean and very friendly. The staff were on point, can’t ask for more so welcoming. We really enjoyed the food which we couldn’t fault at all. Each dish had an individual taste. We have rebooked again for Valentine’s Day Food 5 out of 5 Service 5 out of 5 Atmosphere 5 out of 5 Keep it up guys and I wish you all the best for the future ”
“ Hidden Gem of Indian restaurants in Leicester, the staff are friendly the place is clean. The food was very tasty I must say and good portion size. Would highly recommend, booking advisable as it does get busy. If you not been you must try. ”
“ I have had a take away from here before and it was good so decided to come here on a Friday night, rang up and booked table with no wait so good and lady on phone was nice. The place itself inside is clean nice with fire plave on the TVs, the only thing I would change is that it was a tad too bright inside for a late night meal. Food itself was absolutely amazing and came out reasonable quick and the service was good. This place is now my favourite place for Indian food and we were able to doggy bag left overs which I had the following day A on the food. ”
“ Lovely good quality food. They did however take 12hrs to serve drinks, 45 mins to serve starters and another 12hrs for mains. A long wait and to be honest we were fed up by that time. They definitely need more staff. I spoke to the manager who said it's because they make the food from scratch so it does take time...And he said if you book in advance it makes it a lot easier for them. We went for our wedding anniversary meal but there was also somebody's birthday party there and the noise was horrendous and to be honest that particular visit was our first visit and it did put me off. I will however, try booking next time as the food was top notch. ”
